Phlebotomy Technician

Class run twice a year


A phlebotomist is a medical technician who draws blood for analysis.


  • Copy of High School Diploma or GED and copy of Photo I.D.
  • $200 non-refundable seat deposit must be paid no later than two weeks prior to start date
  • Health insurance card or signature on liability waiver
  • Entrance Exam – TABE Test (Reading and Math)
  • Agreement to submit to a drug screen and criminal background check before clinical experience

Entrance Exam Date:  Dates to be determined: School personnel will contact students for testing.   

Deadline to register:  Two weeks prior to start of program

Class Starts:   January 6 or 13, 2021 and August (TBD) at 5:30 p.m.

Class meets:  Two nights a week, Mondays – Wednesdays for approximately 9 weeks, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and 3 weeks clinical experience M-F 8 hrs/day; daytime hours may be required for the clinical experience.            174 hours/12 weeks total including clinical hours.

Outside Cost:  Uniform, shoes and physical

Entrance Exam:  Photo ID required to be admitted into test, receipt from exam payment, #2 pencils and a calculator.

Special Note: Admission to the Phlebotomy class is based on test results as compared to other candidate’s courses. Class size is limited!! There will be an orientation on the first night of class to clarify requirements of the course.  Clinical experience hours will be set at that time, but students should plan for last 3 weeks/M-F 8hrs/day. 

Financial Aid: Available to those who qualifyIf you are enrolling in a January class, select the 2020-2021 school year at to be eligible for financial aid. Financial aid available will not cover all program costs. (Garnet School ID for FAFSA: 015675)

The Financial Aid Specialist is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the main office.  Part-time financial aid funding is allotted in the fall and spring, divided among all scheduled programs and all eligible students on a first come, first served basis.
